Not a theme bug. Moved to support.
So, did you manually add that first paragraph with Continue reading » link? If so, use HTML editor instead of Visual editor.

No, I actually didn't. The theme seems to add that along with other tags and they appear in my posts. You can see on my website: personaltrainerinnj.com

Theme doesn't add that. Probably a plugin is adding that to
the_contentfilter. Try deactivating all plugins and check if the issue continues to happen. An SEO plugin might be adding this.BTW, I hate to visit sites which welcomes me with a splash screen.
