How do I place a hypertext link to another page in the same site inside a widget?

All you need is the URL of the page in question:

    http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_links.asp

    Thanks for your reply, Ken.

I’ll give this a try but I have a feeling I tried dropping the url for the page inside the widget and that is exactly what appeared. Just that. The url reference in the widget. Though I see from your instructions, I may have included the entire url unnecessarily.

No, I’m afraid that’s not making any sense to me at all. In the main body of TEXT I can attribute a word or words as a hyperlink. Inside a widget there is no such facility. Just pasting whatever formula of HTML code for a link, along with the text, has no effect. At best the code will show exactly as you’ve written it on your published page. There is no visible code to edit in a widget.

I’ve taken another look at the instructions. These are for pages where the HTML code is available for editing. It isn’t accessible inside a widget. All I want to do is keep the text widgets shorter by ending them with the word ‘More . . . ‘ as a link to the rest of the text which is on another page within the same site. Alternatively, how can I create scrolling text inside a widget?

Are you talking about a widget area? If so, then you need to drag a text widget over to it and add your HTML there.

I’ll try again to show what I mean.

This is a link to a screenshot of the Widget I have used: http://imgur.com/FCy4NcD as you can see it IS a TEXT widget. I Click on this and it reveals this TEXT frame: http://imgur.com/aYPYt0e (Can you believe Imgur is telling me I have to wait 51 minutes before I can save and publish my 2nd image! Crazy. Why does anyone use this site). Can I not use Flikr to show you my screenshots? I can upload and publish as many images as I like in minutes with them. This Imgur gallery site are amateurs.

Anyway, when the 2nd image is published: you will see I did use a TEXT widget and all I want to do is make the ‘Tell me more’ text at the end of the paragraph in to a hypertext link to another page in my website.

You have to insert a html code for link in text widget. Something like this:

    Some random text ...
    <a href="http://www.mycustomlink.com">Tell me more!</a>

The link I posted did include instructions for the HTML necessary, but Luko did a great job of distilling it down to its essence.

    For (almost) everything else:

Just upload the images there. Don’t submit them to the gallery. If you right click and select “View Image” you can then use that link to post the image here, using the img button in the toolbar, thus saving everybody a step. That is the advantage of using imgur:
