How to hide the posts used in the slider

I have created a handful of special posts to be used in my slider. These posts were created specifically as content for the slider and I don’t want them to show up on my blog page, or in the “recent posts” widget.

Is there a way to accomplish this, by somehow hiding these posts? I tried marking them as “private”, but this hides them from the slider too.

If there is no way to hide these posts, is there another method you can recommend for how to create content for the slider, that only shows up in the slider?

    Thanks!

This really isn’t the way the Graphene slider is meant to function. Your best bet may be to forgo the Graphene slider entirely and use a plugin that will display independent data, rather than posts.

Thanks for the tip – are there any particular slider plugins that you can recommend?

Actually, if you select “Show posts from categories” option for the slider, another option called “Exclude the categories from posts listing” will appear that lets you hide those posts from everywhere else.

    OK great, thanks very much.

I also figured out that you can accomplish my goal by creating pages (not posts) for the slider specific content, and specify “show specific posts/pages” in the slider options to use those pages. Since they are pages, they don’t show up anywhere as posts.

Wow—I think we should add a section called “Graphene Tips and Tricks” to the wiki.
