Entering numbers into Column Width Options does not work

I tried to enter numbers (in px) into column width options using 3 column-mode into container width and column width,
It did not work, in the sense that widget were shown in the wrong column, etc.
I did not use the slider at all, I just modified the numbers and pressed "Save All Options".

Then I used the slider to change the width and it worked.
Could you check please

Margin and padding are added to main content area and sidebar areas. If you enter numbers that add up to the total width you enter, your site layout will be off, because you are not taking into account padding and margin. Using sliders is the best way, as you have discovered.
